John List, Sr.

If you call First Baptist or happen to stop by the office, you’ll more than likely meet John List.  John is our trusty office manager.  He’s also a long-time member of FBC Needham.  If you have questions about our worship, Bible Study times, Vacation Bible School, renting space or building use at the church, or just about anything else having to do with First Baptist, he is a good first point of connection.  John is in the office weekdays from 9am-2pm.

Daryn begins her tenure as pastor following a year serving our community alongside Greg Mobley.  Before joining FBC Needham, Daryn served as the Pastor of Congregational Care at First Baptist Church in Jamaica Plain.  Daryn believes in fostering the welcoming, healing and creative spirit of Jesus’s good news wherever her ministry leads.  We happily welcome that ministry here at FBC Needham.

Rev. Holly C. Benzenhafer, Associate Pastor

First Baptist Church in Needham welcomes Rev. Holly C. Benzenhafer to its staff.  Holly comes to FBC Needham in the final stages of completing her Ph.D. in Practical Theology and Spirituality at Boston University School of Theology.  A spiritual director and contemplative Christian, Holly seeks to incorporate intentionality, discernment, and compassion into holistic daily living and community.  She develops contextually-oriented spiritual practices; creative spiritual formation; and spaces for balancing work, rest and worship as sacred acts.  Holly holds certification as a labyrinth facilitator through Veriditas and in Religion and Conflict Transformation through Boston Theological Institute.  We look forward to her ministry with us at FBC Needham.

Holly was ordained by Northminster Baptist Church in Jackson, Mississippi in 2009, and affiliates with Alliance of Baptists, Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, and the Association of Welcoming and Affirming Baptists. Holly graduated Magna Cum Laude from BU with her M.Div. specializing in Spirituality.

Prior to moving to Massachusetts in 2003, Holly was sociology faculty at Mississippi College and Hinds Community College and a juried member of the Craftsman’s Guild of Mississippi in Handweaving.  She delights in her daughter and son-in-law, Kristen and Greylyn Hydinger, of Watertown, MA; loose-leaf iced tea; and her three cats, Serena, Samhain, and Moonshine.
